STOP SMOKING SERVICE
The Hartlepool and Stockton Specialist Stop Smoking Service offers help and advice to those looking to give up smoking.
Trained, professional, friendly, non-judgemental staff assess the needs of each individual smoker in a one to one session before the most appropriate form of licensed medication to enhance a quit attempt is prescribed.
A quit attempt comprises a 12 week behaviour support programme, including coping strategies and relapse prevention. Clients wishing to provide their own electronic cigarettes as a means of quitting smoking are welcomed to the service for behavioural support.
There are 9 different community venues across the town operating on a variety of days and times that run a drop-in service. In addition, 5 pharmacies in the town can provide a full support programme.
